Do you get tired of eating ramen noodles and microwave pot pies for every meal? Us too. Here are our top 3 easy college meals! No skill required.
Cheesy Pesto Raviolis
Sounds fancy right? You only need two things: Frozen cheese raviolis, and a jar of pesto sauce. Boil the ravioli for just five minutes, dump a little pesto sauce on them, and boom! Delicious dinner is served. You can find these ingredients at basically any grocery store. Get tired of Ravioli? Swap out any type of pasta and a jar of your preferred sauce and you’re good.
How you get to the grocery store is a different story. If you’re smart, you picked BYU approved housing in Provo with easy access to stores.
Chicken and Black Bean Dip
Meals you can just dump in the crock pot are the best. For this recipe you need: A crock pot, two chicken breasts, a can of corn, a can of black beans, and 1 cup of salsa (about half a jar). Dump all of the ingredients in the crock pot, set on low heat, in the morning before you leave for class. The nice thing about this one is that you leave it for hours without checking up on it. Living in off campus BYU approved housing? No need to rush home to check on dinner, it will be ready for whenever you come back.
Simply use two forks to shred up the chicken, mix, and voila! Enjoy with tortilla chips and sour cream, or on its own!
Pizza Bagels
It may sound funny, but they’re certainly delicious. Grab some bagels, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite pizza toppings. Cut your bagels in half and lay them out on a baking sheet flat side up. Spread the sauce on each of them, and then sprinkle the cheese and toppings on all of them however you like! Put in the oven at 425 F for five to ten minutes, or when cheese is melted. Easy peasy.
Good luck to all you crazy kids living in student housing in Provo! We hope your studies will be filled with more pesto, tortilla chips, and bagels and less ramen and microwave pot pies.
